A global life science ISO 9001 company with manufacturing operations at many sites had a corporate Global Quality department responsible to oversee quality from all the businesses and sites. With so many different sites and document management systems, an enterprise-wide system was needed for the quality systems that was ISO 9001 and cGMP compliant.

Solution


CPO Consulting recommended using Confluence as the best wiki for business. CPO wiki consultants installed and configured the wiki, and provided on-site customized Confluence training to the team. The Global Quality department used the wiki as their group management software that became their ISO 9001 wiki. The QA team put a lot of information in their wiki, including a company “wikipedia”, FDA and ISO 9001 regulatory information about different sites, and quality system approved documents. They used the security permissions within Confluence to control who had viewing and editing privileges to the different wiki spaces and documents.

The wiki allowed the ISO 9001 and cGMP sites to share documents and information in a controlled fashion. The information and document management provided by the Global Quality wiki was so impressive that the Manufacturing Operations group is also migrating to using the Confluence wiki as their collaboration groupware solution for corporate document management.
