Challenge
A life science technology company needed a business financial consultant to provide advanced financial reporting analysis. Some key challenges were to make monthly financial adjustments from multiple countries, find missing costs from over 100,000 parts, and reconcile reporting from multiple ERP systems.
Solution
CPO Consulting designed a desktop solution using a combined approach of Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel to automate the financial adjustments and interface with the existing ERP and Business Intelligence systems. Data were pulled automatically from the existing systems, and analyzed in the tool, making the adjustments and reconciliations easy to do. This allowed the ERP business intelligence data to be reconciled and pulled into multiple business intelligence dashboards.
Benefits
The financial reconciliation tool enabled real time business intelligence and dashboard metrics analysis. This tool identified over $2 million of product with missing cost information, and enabled automatic reporting of data from all regions, regardless of the system or origin of the data.
